Tour Tiwanaku


Tiwanaku is considered one of the oldest civilizations of the Andes region (1300 BC.-1200 AD.), and was more advanced than others because of its cultural development and architectural, astronomical and religious knowledge, which lasted for about 3000 years and became the most important population centre of its time in South America.
The ruins of Tiwanaku are located at a distance of 72 KM from the city of La Paz, and its colossal constructions evoke admiration from the visitors. Among the most important archaeological remains you can find: The temple of Kalasasaya, the Akapana pyramid, the Semi-subterranean Temple and the Gateway of the Sun.

The guided tour starts with the pick up from hotels (only down town hotels) at 08:00 and then we head to Tiwanaku. At 10:30 we arrive at Tiwanaku to visit the museums and the archaeological ruins with Puma Punku which lasts 3 hours. After lunch we return to La Paz, arriving at 16:00.
