Trekking Salkantay – Machupicchu

5 Days / 4 Nights

1st Day: CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA
Pick up at the hotel (05:00). We board the bus heading to the village of Mollepata (2830 m), arriving there at 07:00. This is where we have the breakfast. Then the adventure begins and we walk admiring the great diversity of flora and fauna. Afterwards we get to Cruzpata site planned for our lunch. We continue the journey and we arrive in Soraypampa (3700 m) where we have dinner and rest until the next day.

2nd Day: SORAYPAMPA – CHAULLAY
We begin this day with breakfast at 7:00 and then start the hike to Soraypampas (3700 m) where we have lunch, then we continue our hiking to the jungle landscape, in this section, we will appreciate formations of the rivers that later they become tributaries of the Urubamba River, a variety of Orchids and waterfalls of great magnitude, and on this day we will be able to appreciate the majestic Salkantay, arriving to Chaullay, where we will spend the night.

3rd Day: CHAULLAY – PLAYA SAHUAYACO – STA. TERESA
After a good breakfast, we will continue our walk to visit Inca bridges, and we will appreciate a variety of coca crops, considered the sacred leaf of our ancestors which is currently cultivated in tropical zones, this last section will be down to Playa and from there to Santa Teresa, where we will spend the night.

4th Day: SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES
The sunrise will be inside a tropical area full of nature and history, there we will have breakfast, then we will continue our hike to Machupicchu (town). It will take us around 7 hours, on the way we will go through the known center of rest of Hydroelectric. (Service of hydroelectric train – Aguas Calientes: Optional) We will make stops in different places to appreciate the beautiful landscape and its surroundings full of waterfalls. In the afternoon we arrive to Aguas Calientes (2050 m) where we will spend the night in a hostel at the foot of the Inka citadel of Machupicchu.

5th Day: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO
Early in the morning around 4:30 we will ascend in direction of the historic sanctuary of Machupicchu where we have a guided visit of approximately 2 hours. Later we have free time to admire this majestic site. Afterwards we return to Aguas Calientes where we take the train heading to Ollantaytambo, then bus Ollantaytambo to Cusco.

The tour includes: Pickup from your hotel, transport Cusco-Mollepata, complete board on the tour ( 4 breakfast, 4 lunches and 4 dinners) tent, insulation mat, professional English-Spanish guide, 1 night in a hostel in Aguas Calientes, entrance ticket to Machupicchu, return ticket in tourist train (Expedition class) Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo, bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.
The tour does not include: last breakfast and last lunch, personal porter, sleeping bag.
