Machupicchu wonder of the world

This colossal construction is one of the most visited archeological sites in South America. It is located on the eastern slopes of the Cordillera Vilcanota at an elevation of 2350 meters and 112 Km from Cusco. It was built in the 15th century by the Inca culture. The exact cut of the stone and its use in building cause admiration by the locals and foreigners which is why it was chosen as one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Tour to the sanctuary of Machupicchu

1 Day (13 hours)

This tour begins very early when you are picked up from the hotel. We then head to the train station of Ollantaytambo. On the way we can appreciate the Valle Sagrado (Sacred Valley). Afterwards we arrive at the station and continue the trip by train towards the village of Aguas Calientes. The journey takes place parallel to a river whereby we discover sinuous markings between the vegetation. These are unique characteristics to the high jungle. We are confronted with imposing mountains of granite rock. After 3 to 4 hours of traveling we arrive at the Aguas Calientes train station and after we board the tourist bus which takes us to the ruins of Machupicchu.
In Machupicchu we go on a guided tour of the Temple of the Sun, Intiwuatana, the Group of the Sacred Rock, the Temple of the three Windows, the Mausoleum, etc. Subsequently there is free time to have lunch and then we go back to Cusco concluding the tour with transport to your hotel.

The tour includes: Transfer to the train station, return train ticket (Expedition class) Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo, bus up/down to ruins, entrance ticket to Machupicchu and a professional English-Spanish guide.
The tour does not include: Food and water.
