COPACABANA + ISLAND OF THE SUN 2D/1N
Lake Titicaca, regarded as the highest navigable lake in the world (3850 m) is located to the east of the city of La Paz. The ancient cultures that settled around it called it "The Sacred Lake," because its waters were vital for their survival. Copacabana is at present one of the most populated centres on the shores of the lake. Two hours by boat from Copacabana is the beautiful Island of the Sun, which owes its importance to the pre-Columbian archaeological ruins that are scattered over the island. In addition according to legend this island is considered as the cradle of the Inca Empire.
1st Day:
This tour begins at 08:30 when you are picked up from your hotel. We head to Copacabana and arrive there at 12:00. We check into our hotel, have lunch and at 13:30 head to the Island of the Sun in a boat arriving at the southern part of the island called Yumani. We visit the Palace of Pilcocaina (archaeological ruins) and around 16:00 we go for a 45 minute walk to reach the site called “The Stairs of Yumani” where the Fountain of Inca Youth is located. At around 17:15 we head to Sicuani where we enjoy a ride in the famous reed boats. Around 18:00 we arrive at our hotel in Copacabana to have dinner and relax.

2nd Day:
After breakfast at 10:00 we go on a city tour and visit the different sights of Copacabana like: the Calvary, the Basilica of Copacabana, Intikala (archaeological ruins), etc. After lunch at 13:30 we return to La Paz. (a trip to Puno is optional).
The tour includes: Transportation, entrance tickets, food, accommodation and an English-Spanish guide.
