COPACABANA + ISLAND OF THE SUN 1DAY
Lake Titicaca, regarded as the highest navigable lake in the world (3850 m) is located to the east of the city of La Paz. The ancient cultures that settled around it called it "The Sacred Lake," because its waters were vital for their survival. Copacabana is at present one of the most populated centres on the shores of the lake. Two hours by boat from Copacabana is the beautiful Island of the Sun, which owes its importance to the pre-Columbian archaeological ruins that are scattered over the island. In addition according to legend this island is considered as the cradle of the Inca Empire.

The tour lasts 10 hours and begins in La Paz at 08:30 when you are picked up from your hotel. Afterwards we head to Copacabana arriving there at 12:00. After lunch at 13:30 we head in a boat to the Island of the Sun arriving in the southern part of the island called Yumani to visit the Palace of Pilcocaina (archaeological ruins) and around 16:00 we go for a 45 minute walk and arrive at the site called the “Stairs of Yumani”. Here we find the Fountain of Inca Youth. In the afternoon at 18:00 we go back to Copacabana and return to La Paz.
